When creating a custom quote, I always consider what the project is and what it is for, the size of the project and if it is recurring, as well as your budget, so it really depends on the project.
With that in mind, here are a few things to consider:
What are you needing voiced? A commercial, eLearning project, an explainer for a video, corporate piece, documentary or audio book?
Rates vary based on genres, so knowing what you’re intending to use the voice over for makes a big difference.
If possible, having a copy of the final script is the easiest way for a me to provide you with an accurate quote. A word count is usually the best manner to calculate the length of the finished recording.
Is the recording you need for broadcast? If so, where – television, radio or YouTube? Is it local, regional or national? Is it internal or for retail?
We’ll need to determine exactly where the voice over will be played to determine a quote.
Will you be using the voice over in a commercial for 13 weeks, six months or for only a few shows? Are you hoping for a full buyout at the time of delivery?
The length of time a voice over will be used helps determine the rates for the finished product.
Have you set a budget already or can it be altered? Are you unsure of professional rates? I am happy to work with you on budget to ensure we come up with a win-win plan.
